The tech event of the year.
The Consumer Electronics Association represents thousands of tech companies, bringing them all together for the annual CES expo in Vegas, the hottest date on the tech calendar.
The very first CES was in 1967 with just 200 exhibitors and 17,500 attendees, since then they’ve grown to represent over 2,500 manufacturers and attract more than 150,000 members of the industry each year.
It’s not just the annual show which the CEA helps organise, however. Shapiro and his peers act as a representative for their thousands of members, offering networking opportunities, access to research data, training, and pushes through initiatives much in the same way the GSMA does across Europe.
Plenty of new technologies have launched at CES, with OLED TV, 3D TV and the Blu-ray format being recent headlines from the last few years.
