Phil Schiller
Apple
Senior VP of Worldwide Product Marketing
Filled Jobs's shoes very nicely.
When Jobs was on sick leave for six months, Schiller donned his black turtleneck and hosted Macworld and WWDC. Doing a fine job of manning the manufacturer in Jobs’s absence, Schiller saw very positive financial results earlier this year, with Apple posting record profits as the rest of the industry sank deeper into economic gloom.
Known for being close-lipped, Apple made a turn-around during August, with Schiller contacting bloggers and developers who’d reported on Apple’s strict app approval system. This won him a huge amount of respect from within the industry, and also signalled the wind is changing in Apple’s HQ, and for the better this time.
