He’s been at the helm of Acer since early 2008, and since then has seen millions of Aspire One netbooks fly off the shelves. Whether sales will reach the 15-20m target Lanci forecast last year remain to be seen, however for now the Aspire One is the best-selling netbook so far.

In fact, sales are up for Acer and the future is looking pretty peachy. Acer is ranked third worldwide for PC sales, and saw a massive 34.2 per cent rise in shipped computers during the second quarter of 2009, based on 2008’s shipments.

Upon hearing of their positive financial outcome, Lanci boasted “We executed it well and were able to introduce in the market outstanding products responding to precise customers’ needs”.
