The GSMA encompasses hundreds of mobile companies which together push through initiatives such as the Universal Charging Solution. Conway also runs the annual Mobile World Congress, the hottest date in any mobile phone aficionado’s diary.

With the GSM standard for mobiles being used by around 80 per cent of the world’s mobile market, the GSM Association has a big job ensuring manufacturers and networks alike stick by the rules.

Prior to joining the GSMA, Conway was an executive at Motorola.
