Your Mum shops there, yes...

Britain’s favourite department store has seen gadgets ring thousands of extra sales up, with John Lewis bucking the recession with overall sales up two per cent on last year’s figures. Technology, such as TVs and home electronics, has seen over a 7 per cent increase in the last year, no doubt driven by the plethora of Mums who stampede through their doors.

Keppel-Compton told us that “DSLR cameras, netbooks, LED TVs and internet radios” have been big sellers in the past year, and she anticipates that “Freesat HD recorders, more functionality in internet protocol on TVs, net top computers, Windows 7 and touchscreen computing” will be the future products drawing the crowds in.
